Bio

Anna Primiani is an Italian-Canadian actress appearing in feature films, independent shorts and television.   Originating from Europe, she is fluent in English, Italian and Albanian and holds Canadian and EU citizenship.

At a young age, Anna started training as a classical ballet dancer, as well as jazz, hip-hop and modern dance and has over 15 years of training to her credit.  Her passion and love of dance and performing earned her several awards as a dancer.

She holds a degree from the University of Alberta with a major in Drama, has trained at the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts and refine her craft, through classes and workshops, including training with casting director Helen McCready at The Hollywood Acting Workshops Studios in Hollywood.

Anna trained and began acting in theatre, performing several diverse roles before moving on to television and film and has since appearing on various national television commercials. She soon began working on films and has appeared in both short and feature length films.  She landed the role of “Alma Solida” in “Emptiness” an avant garde inspired film of a bicycle courier struggle with loneliness and loss.  Later with the role of “Betty” in the artistic and award nominated film, “Curse of the Piano” opposite Don Franks. In 2008 she appeared in “Hope for the Broken Contender”; the Calgary International film festivals people’s choice award winner as the role of “Gina.”

Anna then took on the role of “Daniella” in “The Housewife.” This is an Italian/English film that embarks on the life of a young wife who struggles to adjust to her new life in America.

A dedicated and hard working actress, Anna has explored some very dramatic roles, with the lead role of Kathy Longo in “She Could Be You” the compelling film based on a true story of missing Tampa girl Jennifer Marteliz. It was shot on location in Florida, and premiered at the Marche de Film in Cannes, France in May 2009.

She also took the role of Cleopatra in the Disney film “Treasure Buddies” and a landed a role on the Season two premiere of “Health Nutz.”
In addition to acting, Anna worked as a model for select import clothing designers.  She was also 1st Runner-Up in the Miss Italia Nel Mondo competition for Canada in 2005.  She is also challenging herself with a new project; writing, directing and producing her first short film. Anna is hardworking and loves acting; she continues to challenge herself with roles in film and television across Canada and the United States.

In 2014, Anna enrolled in film making at FAVA to expand her creativity to behind the camera. She produced and directed her first short film, “Stepping Back”, currently being submitted to a variety of film festivals throughout North America. She is also working on producing and starring in a new spy web series, “Echelon.”
